year end party

{end of June}
For all the three classes of Elijah's grade, they had a combined year end party at ML. I was a driver and supervisor during the fieldtrip. We first walked around the lake and then stopped at the water park (or splash park for you Saskers) -then we had a picnic for lunch and games for the kids after that - one of the games was to dress up in all this fishing gear and race to the other side... hard to do with rubber boots up to or past the knees on some of these kids!it was a great day!

magic dust

Jason took Elijah and Gabi to the store to see if they could find a bike for Elijah - but he had fallen on his shoulder a few days prior to this (separating his ac) - so he wasn't able to "try on" a bike... BUT little miss Gabi jumped on this bike and started to ride in the store. Daddy's heart melted and he came home with this precious little set of wheels for his baby girl - she is SO proud of it and rides it like a champion, keeping up to all the kids in the cul-de-sac with no problem.{June}

two wheels

on May Long Weekend Jason decided to just take off Sam's training wheels and let him figure out how to ride a 2 wheeler. He's quite a jock, so it took him nothing and he was off. Seeing Sam riding with no training wheels really pushed Elijah to care and try - so he too learnt on Sam's bike and his reward was a new bike... post coming. :)

donuts

on probably the hottest day we had in June, we were signed up to sell Krispy Kremes on a street corner... a fundraiser for our Church's Family Retreat this Fall. It was a hot one, but we survived and sold a good amount of donuts.
our first customers: aunt carla, Grandma and Grandpa: let's just say we won't be quick to sign up again for one of these 4 hours shifts with kids...

reader's theatre

Back to the beginning of June, I went to Eljiah's class to listen to "readers theatre" that they've been working on for the last month or so. Elijah's was "the gingerbread man" and he was the cow. It was really adorable - and I had the honor of practicing with his group and other groups when I would go in to help out on Mondays.

happy birthday Sophie

I have barely even mentioned the Girls we have from China right now! Sophie and Sally arrived in March and already leave this week (June 26) - in May, Sophie had her birthday, so I had a birthday party for her on the Long Weekend and on her actual birthday we had ice cream cones in her honor. notice the mini cones? SS sells these little cones...

Heart 2 Heart

In May our elementary school does an annual fundraising for Heart to Heart in Haiti. I set Elijah up with his first Lemonade Stand - he made $39 (not including the cost of the juice/cookies) in honor of Heart to Heart, which we thought was great!

dancing with the stars

In May, Parent's were invited to watch and participate in PE Class at the end of the dancing unit. It was a lot of fun learning this dance with the kids...

Erin and Gabi

You've noticed over the {almost} 3 years that we sometimes have matching clothes for Erin and Gabi - never in the same size, but the same otherwise! So when I spotted this adorable Children's Place daisy-dress on FB for sale, I snatched it since I knew Erin had the same one from last Easter. So... at the end of April when Gabi went to Erin's house while I took Sam to his Music Class Finale, Alexa got some photos of the two together...

salad social

On Saturday April 17th I hosted a salad social at my house for some Lady-Friends! I got the idea for a WM Event many years ago... and it went over well. We all brought a salad and filled our plates with them as our dinner! We had all made such large salads we all went home with half of our bowls for our families! We visited and played Scattergories and then the Lemon Layer Cake I made, I topped with birthday candles in honor of Korinne who was celebrating her birthday soon after! She was certainly surprised...It was a great evening!

first loose tooth

Now I am back to blogging April! Don't know what happened in there that I got so behind with February events.
Elijah's tooth became very wiggly so I thought I better take a pic of his first loose toothgood thing, cause an hour or so later he had got it out!Tuesday, April 13th

little cuts

Again - going back to February - Gabi became interested in scissors! Uh-oh! So far so good - let's keep the hair out of the scissors...looks like she has a bit of a cold here

cinnamon

I have this bear here and his name is Cinnamon. I received him as a Christmas Gift from my brother, Matt, when I was a teenager. I had really wanted a big teddy bear and so Matt fulfilled that wish! Thanks!!

This is going back to February - when Gabi learnt that this was Momma's Bear, during a week period she kept bringing Cinnamon to me. I don't recall what she would say, but it was something along the lines of "here Mommy, here's your bear". It was just so cute!She's not much bigger than Cinnamon!
