Guys California Trip

Lighthouse in Oregon. I think called Hacieta Lighthouse.
Jason and Kurt bombed down to California two weekends ago. Jason had to go to a concert in Redding California (northern) and was able to convince Kurt to keep him company on the road! (thanks Kurt, otherwise you know as well as I do that Jason would have gone by himself)
Anyway, they left Thursday night and drove to the Oregon Coast. They did some boogy boarding, stopped at the Old Navy Outlet in Eureka and did some Redwood Tree site seeing. The concert, Firehouse, was on Saturday night. After it was over they drove and drove all night in order to make it back for Mother's Day after church. And indeed they were. They beat me home from church actually!

May Celebrations

The month of May is a busy one for us. Both my brothers and I have our birthdays in May and of course Mother's Day too. So, we've begun having one day in May to celebrate all three birthdays and Mother's Day at the same time with my family. This happened on Sunday of the Long Weekend. Here is Matt with Elijah. Matt turned 24... Happy Birthday Matt!
Elijah is playing with the nesting boxes that were mine as a young child! Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Paul, Matt and Jen...!
Paul turns 22 next week and I turned 28! Happy Birthday Paul!

And here's Nathan!

Our sons are here not by chance,
but by God’s choosing.
His hand formed them
and made them each the person he is.
God compares them to no one else –
they are one of a kind.
Our sons will lack nothing
that God’s grace can’t give them.
God has allowed our sons to be here
at this time in history
to fulfill His special purpose
for this generation.
-Roy Lessin
(I changed the words to suit talking about both boys instead of just one)

Last night "the girls" and I got together at Miriam's house to hang out for the purpose of celebrating Alexa's and my birthday this month. Anita brought along Nathan, of course, and I brought along Samuel. So as I said I would do, I got them both down on the Pooh blanket for some snapshots. Nathan was born on April 24... weighing 6lbs 10oz at MSA... born to proud parents Ian and Anita. Anita and I have been friends since Grade 4 at Ten-Broeck Elementary... crazy, eh?! (Miriam too) So, it is very fun to have our baby's born the same year, less than 4 months apart from each other and both boys! Unless Anita gets moved somewhere else for her husband's upcoming career (RCMP) this fall then our boys will have many opportunities to play and grow together. If she does get posted somewhere else out of a close radius of Abbotsford then that's okay too! Playmates a few times a year is good too!
Here are our precious little boys!

“Everyone shall stand in awe and confess the greatness of the miracles of God… they will realize what amazing things He does.” Psalm 64:9 TLB

Riding on Momma's Knees

Samuel is now 4 1/2 months old. Unreal. I think
I keep saying that... but it's true! He is a cutie... even Elijah
thinks so by saying "tute" meaning "cute". Baby Nathan Brown
came over yesterday for a visit and boy does that make
Samuel seem like a BIG boy already. Seeing a 3 week old in the
same room makes you really believe it! I didn't get a picture of the
two of them together, but I will see Anita and Nathan again tonight
so I will be sure to get the two '06 babies to lie down side by side for a photo.

Twenty Eight Degrees!

Yup, that's right, 28* outside. We've been having such gorgeous summer weather! Here's what we're doing:Jayden is watering my flowers to keep them from dying! Thanks, Bud.Elijah went to Brock's birthday party on Saturday. Here he is playing his backyard.I made popsicles with OJ... "it's cold!" but oh, so nice after a sweaty nap!Samuel just loves the outdoors. Lying on a blanket on the grass... so comfy!

Mercy and Samuel

(this is the picture I was hoping to add. thanks Korinne)
At the girl's party, when Mercy saw Samuel her eyes
just lit up and she couldn't keep her hands off him!
It was very adorable.

Danika and Alise's birthday party

Alise in the middle of our "carousel" game.Danika didn't want to take the tea cup away from her face when we sang to her and Alise."cheese" and below is Bethy and EJ posing as Prince and Princess! On Saturday we went to Danika and Alise's birthday party. They had a Princess Party... and the three boys invited got to wear Prince costumes. Too fun! Elijah enjoyed wearing the robe and crown the entire party. A lady dressed up as Belle was hired to run the party. So she had some fun games, castle-decorating paper craft, tea party and a cupcake for each Prince and Princess. It was a very fun birthday party!
(I may have more pictures to add from Korinne of Mercy and Samuel... Mercy just adored Sammie, it was so cute)

First Time Swinging

On Sunday we went for a walk wtih the boys... something we can do so easily from our new home. We just love this location. Doing our running around and family time on foot is really our cup of tea. So on our walk we went to the mall to find me some spring jackets ~we found two! ~ and then we went for dinner at McD's and off to the park for playtime. Elijah loves the park. And Samuel enjoyed his first experience too! Swinging away... so soothing. Samuel loves being outside. It's great!
Samuel is now 4 months old. Wow, that's hard to believe that the time has gone so quickly. He is a lovely baby most the time! He is starting to laugh when we tickle him; he rolls over from his tummy to his back and has gone from his back to his tummy a few times; he loves to smile. We're getting into a routine more and more each day which is what I thrive on and ultimately I believe he'll do best that way too!
Here they are... 2 1/2 and 4 months of age.
