A show worth seeing... across Canada
I checked to see if the "Safari Jeff and Shannon" show would be here again this year and it's not... but several of friends I know across the country could go and see it in one of their local malls. Click this site of the Go Green Adventure and see tour dates... some are soon, so click this now and mark your calendar!
And see these two past posts about this same show we went to... click this
Hope you can go and enjoy this free entertainment!

Agriculture Show
Last weekend we went to a local Agriculture Fair (show). Mainly for farmers looking at big machinery and getting Farming loans...etc, but we knew there was going to be some animals there too, so we went AND of course, we had Jason's sister, Auntie Suzan, here for a visit too!!! It was fun, once we found the little petting zoo. The Girls could have stayed in that little petting pen for a very long time, well they were in there for a long time but couldn't stayed all day in there! Here we are:

Weekend
This past weekend we kept pretty busy.
Friday Night - African Children's Choir concert
Saturday afternoon, Michelle (Alexa's student) came over while Andy and Alexa went to a wedding... so I got out the ink pads, stamps and paper and the girls spent quite a long time at the table making V-Day cards for their classmates
Then in the evening we all decorated heart cookies (recipe to follow)... so much fun!

On Sunday we went across into the USA to celebrate my Grandma's birthday with my extended Family. I don't have any pictures though, woops.

Cream Cheese Cookies
1 cup margarine or butter
1 8oz. package cream cheese, softened (I used light)
3 1/2 cups flour (I used 2 cups white and 1 1/4 whole wheat)
2 cups sugar (I used 1 1/2 cups)
1 egg
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Beat margarine and cream cheese for 30 seconds.
Add half the flour, sugar, egg, baking powder and vanilla.
Beat until thoroughly combined.
Beat or stir in remaining flour.
Divide dough in half in bowl. Cover. Chill for 3-24 hours or until easy to handle.
Roll each half of dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut with desired shape (heart for Valentines).
Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375* for 8-10 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. (if using a baking stone, increase time to 12 minutes or so)
Let cool and then decorate with icing and sprinkles.
(with the changes I made to the recipe above, they totally worked and you'd never know! ... I figured b/c we were decorating them, may as well use less sugar in them and although the whole wheat does "show" in the cookie, but again b/c we decorated them - who cares!)

the fourth of february
which means Gabi is now 7 months old! She is so fun and full of joy! Here she is this morning:
with her bear, while going crazy with her arms up and down
She's been doing this for the past month too, moreso in the last couple weeks... reaching for things by going onto her one knee and keeping one leg trapped below her belly:
then she'll either sit back down, very gracefully...
or go too far forward and fall onto her stomach/face. Here she is happy, but she isn't happy on her tummy for too long. Not all of the time does she then roll onto her back - though she should!
And in the past week she has started to pull up on us and on things... here she grabbed my hands and pulled herself up. She's not very steady of course, but she did do a good job of it while I used 1 hand to hold her and the other to snap the photos of her...
Gabi is still just eating a bit of rice cereal almost everyday and some veggies, but not consistently. She wakes up at night, every 3 hours basically; I feed her. Gabi had her very first swim yesterday at the local pool! I didn't get pictures of her in the water though, maybe next time. Oh and I tried to measure her with a measuring tape last week and I think I got about 24 inches in length... she is a pip-squeak, but which of my kids aren't?!
